Stating that there must be a god based on the fact that there are many cultures in the world that accept some form of deity could be viewed as rational. I am not convinced of this rationalization. Would it not be more logical to infer a simple need for humanity to understand the world in which we live? As our understanding has increased, our relience on fabricated assumptions should logically decrease.
There also exists the fact that humans are habitual. This, I believe, has evolved as a means for us to survive and to pass on our genetic coding to future generations. Naturally, once a culture finds a path that facilitates progress and apears to increase understanding of a particular subject, that path is usually adopted as truth. Hence, when gaps exist in logic, those gaps must be bridged in order to continue the logical process.
